The question is am I crazy for decorating this early? Not in my book. I have always loved christmas time, the decorating, the smells, the warm fires and listening to my father singing all his favorite christmas songs as he brought the tree downstairs and boxes full of ornaments for us. It was ALWAYS a family tradition to all put up the ornaments together, and fight over what year it would be... a year of colored lights on the tree or white lights? As we grew older, we started to appreciate the white lights and my father would be the only one fighting for the colored light tree. Of course, with 3 women against him, we won. My mother would completely transform our home from her usual decor to a winter wonderland. We would have to remove so much to make way for her boxes full of santas, reindeer, and insane amounts of garland. That was just normal for us. You would dedicate an entire day for this, and I now have to continue that tradition in my new home. OF COURSE. Now my husband clearly thinks I am crazy for all of this, I begged him to allow us to start even earlier because I was just so inspired by all my christmas pins I have had stayed up all night to find. The pinterest board I made was looking too amazing to not create myself, not sure if I would be a "fail" but I couldn't wait to have our first christmas together! My husband has been away since 2011 and not able to celebrate any holidays with family so this year I wanted to make it one for the books. While he was taking a nap I decided to haul the giant red bag up the stairs filled with my first christmas tree. I thought well if I do it myself, he can't say no right? Thankfully I was given a gorgeous tree from Target, one that really didn't need much skill to put together, pre-light (HEAVEN) and 3 sections to put on top of each other. I honestly think I was done within a few minutes. So after a week of having it I FINALLY have it decorated the way I want. Yes it took many trips to find everything but its so warm and cozy in the house now, and now I don't seem to be the only weirdo in the housing to have their tree up! I have noticed some twinkling lights throughout the neighborhood already! Bring on the winter wonderland....
